What is a UA (C & S IF INDICATED) - IRIS URINE RANDOM WC LAB? It pertains to bloodwork I am having done.?

I am having bloodwork done on thursday.. this is the label given to this section of bloodwork I am having done. Can anyone tell me what this is?What is a UA (C & S IF INDICATED) - IRIS URINE RANDOM WC LAB? It pertains to bloodwork I am having done.?
UA is urinalysis-done mainly to detect infection; includes remarks about color, appearance, and odor; tested for protein, glucose, ketones, blood and leukocytes.
C&S is culture & sensitivity -determines the presence of bacteria; this part will take 24 hours to "grow" in the lab before results are ready. That is the culture part. The sensitivity part is to determine which antibioics the bacteria is "sensitive" to so that the proper medicine can be determined for the infection.
Hope this helps. Good luck.....
I can only partially answer this for you but it may ease your mind. The UA stands for urinalysis-its a urine test where you pee in a cup. C&S stands for culture and specimen, and the Random WC is likely a random white count- where they check your white blood cell count. Sounds like they are checking you for either a bladder, kidney, or urinary tract infection. Is this the case? Either way, it is painless, and quite common.
Usually a UA refers to a Urinary Analysis...
